Once upon a time, there was a King named Shurky.

King Shurky enjoyed feasting, quaffing beer, and hiking in the mountains surrounding his kingdom. He was a benevolent and affable ruler, and was much loved by his people.

One weekend, he was planning on doing a two-day hike with his most rugged knights. But as he was putting his gear into his backpack, the Queen came in.

"What are you doing?" said the Queen.

"Packing my backpack, dear," King Shurky replied.

"For what?"

"For backpacking. This weekend. With the guys."

"Not THIS weekend! Shurky, you KNOW that the big Feast is this weekend."

"What? WHAT feast? Nobody told me!"

King Shurky fell into deep gloom. On the one hand, he enjoyed going out and hiking with his buds, but on the other hand, he loved a good Feast.

He went down to the Kitchens, where the Royal Chefs (Mike and Meg) were preparing for the feast, and explained his dilemma.

They promised King Shurky that they would devote themselves entirely to creating a new food worthy of a King.
